Shade tents and chairs will be provided for lawn seating. \nFor the health and well-being of the community: \n\nPlease stay home if you have a fever or respiratory symptoms associated with COVID-19\, or have been in recent contact with someone with these symptoms.\nMasks are now optional for indoor and outdoor worship and gatherings.\nLove God. Love your neighbor.\nYou may kneel at the altar rail for communion\, or choose to remain standing at your seat during communion and the priest will bring the Sacrament to you.

SUMMARY:Stations of the Cross
DESCRIPTION:Experience the Stations of the Cross in the church every Friday during Lent at 5:30pm. \nYou can also pray along with this new devotional video. An online booklet is here. \nThe practice of pilgrims to the Holy Land following the Way of Sorrows from the house of Pilate to the Holy Sepulchre was the origin of this devotion\, which became widespread in the later Middle Ages\, although it was not completely formalized until the eighteenth century. This is a popular and appropriate devotion during Lent and Holy Week. Eight of the stations are based directly upon events recorded in the Gospels. The remaining six (stations III\, IV\, VI\, VII\, IX\, and XIII) are based upon inferences from the Gospels or upon pious legend\, and may be omitted if desired. \nAt St. Michael’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church\, the unique Italian station artworks complement the mid-century modern architecture of the 1959 church building\, designed by Albert Frey\, the father of desert modernism.
