The 125th Anniversary of St. Michael’s by the Sea

You’re invited to celebrate our quasiquicentennial !

Parish Picnic (9/29)

Celebrating together as a church family.

Festivities begin Sunday, September 29th with The Feast of St. Michael and All Angels! On our patronal feast, there will be a picnic following the 10:15 am Mass. Events include food and drink, games, and a Ministry Fair. The new parish directory will be released, and we will open the Lift Up Your Hearts exhibition in the parish hall!

Neighborhood Celebration (11/17)

The public is invited for a proclamation with the city and diocese.

At the second event, we will host a celebration with our neighbors! This special event in partnership with the Carlsbad Historical Society will include an afternoon tea reception. Bishop Susan Brown-Snook will be the keynote speaker and Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall will present an official pronouncement from the City of Carlsbad!

Lift Up Your Hearts

Creating, exhibiting, and preserving a special collection

We are going to create a special booklet which will be offered to the Lord as part of a 125th Anniversary time capsule, along with other items of significance in the life of the parish.

Would you consider contributing? We are collecting personal reflections in any form: “thank you” cards, essays, art, your favorite photo of a parish memory, poetry, music, etc. These offerings will be collected by Sunday, Sept 22nd, displayed in the parish hall, and preserved in a commemorative booklet.

On Sunday, November 24th – The Feast of Christ the King (and the last Sunday of the liturgical year) – our anniversary season of praise and celebration will conclude. During a Christian Formation intergenerational event, we will bless and bury our booklet and other artifacts in a 125th Anniversary time capsule!
