Carlsbad Marathon: Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022

Traveling to church on the day of the annual Carlsbad Marathon can bring extra challenges. But this year it should be easier! Mass is at 9:30 am, so most of the runners will have passed the point where our route intersects with theirs. Still, please note:

Carlsbad Boulevard will be closed northbound and southbound from the Buena Vista Lagoon to La Costa Avenue.

Recommended route is from Oceanside southbound on Carlsbad Boulevard prior to 7:45 am or after 8:45 am.

From the I-5 Freeway:

• Exit 78 West
• Left at second stoplight onto Coast Hwy/Carlsbad Blvd.
• At barricade near the round-about near the bridge, inform the officer you are going to St. Michael’s. To speed the process, click the button below for the St. Michael’s parking pass. Either download and print the flyer and place it faceup on your car’s dashboard, or show the flyer on your smartphone to the officer.
• Turn right onto Mountain View at south end of the bridge.
• Turn left onto Ocean Street.
• Turn left onto either Beech Street or Christiansen Way to reach the church parking lots.
