Thank you to all who participated in making the Flowering Cross. It was such a beautiful moment. The flowering cross is a long-standing tradition in the church, reminding us of the transformative love that is made known in the cross of Christ. Our Mite Cans are symbolic and literal representations of sharing that love with our neighbors.
Throughout Lent, the children of St. Michael’s, alongside many adult members of the parish, saved their money in Mite Cans. These cans were returned last week and placed at the foot of the flowering cross, which our children lovingly decorated.
This year we collected $232! These funds will be donated to Casa de Amparo, an organization that serves children, youth, and families by treating and preventing child abuse and neglect.
