On Friday, October 17th, the St. Michael’s Foreign and Domestic Missions Ministry hosted the 5th Annual Wine Tasting and Italian Feast in the Parish Hall. Everyone raised their glasses to savor a variety of regional and international wines. The tastings offered five aromatic and full-bodied red wines, seven delightful and light whites, and a delicately bubbly rose selection. To accompany the wine selections, a large Italian feast was presented featuring meat and vegetarian lasagna, meatballs and penne pasta, sautéed mushrooms and spicy shrimp. There were lots or salads, breads, cheese and crackers, relishes, bruschetta, as well as heavenly tasting desserts. Visitors to the event commented that, “We thought we only would get cheese and crackers, but the quality and quantity of this dinner is restaurant grade”.

All of the profits of this fund-raising event went to the Veterans Association of North County. We were honored to have Chuck Atkinson, President and Founder, and his wife join us. Chuck shared how the VANC fosters a deep, uniting bond of brotherhood for all veterans, the military, and their families, asserting the dignity and respect they deserve. Through the hard work and enthusiasm of their volunteers and the members of the Foreign and Domestic Missions, Father Doran and Christine Lucas were proud to present to Mr. Atkinson a donation check for $4,000.00. Thank you for all of your support!
