Friends in Christ,
This morning, all of St. Michael’s sacred vessels were discovered in a car during a routine traffic stop. The suspect in custody admitted to what he had done. To the surprise of the detective and state trooper, the young thief requested to apologize in person.
A group of church representatives met at the Vista Sheriff’s Department this afternoon. The sacred vessels were returned, and we had the opportunity to speak with the young man who had stolen them.
I am so thankful to God for His handiwork in this situation. I am grateful that our sacred vessels have returned home. They now reside in a brand new safe that was installed just yesterday. I am grateful for the Carlsbad Police Department and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department for their thoughtful work. And I ask your prayers for the young man in custody, whose journey through the court system has just begun. I pray that by God’s grace this event would mark a new beginning in his life.
Glory to God whose power working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine, glory to Him from generation to generation in the church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever!
A special thank you to San Diego Reader, CBS 8, FOX 5, and NBC 7!
In Christ,
Fr. Doran+
