We would like to welcome Richard Lane to St. Michael’s as our new Organist/Choirmaster. Mr. Lane comes to us from the quaint historic town of Alexandria, Virginia. His early training as organist and vocalist began at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Washington and the Washington-National Cathedral Choral Societies under the direction of Dr. Paul Callaway and Richard Wayne Dirksen. Mr. Lane continued his pursuit of Church Music and Organ performance at Phillip’s University (BA Music in Organ and Church Music) and the University of Colorado (MM Music in Church Music & Organ Performance). As a member of several professional music organizations, he has been an active supporter of the American Guild of Organists which sponsors many talented youth in the practice of classical organ performance. Mr. Lane feels privileged and honored to serve St. Michael’s through the ministry of music. He has always admired St. Michael’s for its ongoing commitment and focus on the great traditions of the Anglican Church.

St. Michael’s has a rich tradition of choral music and congregational singing. We strive to continue that great tradition, helping congregants find a deeper supernal meaning in worship through music.

Come join the choir and be enriched by the beauty of Anglican worship! St. Michael’s Chancel Choir welcomes all singers, beginning to advanced. The choir meets for practice Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm and Sunday mornings at 9:15 am in the choir loft, and sings at the Sunday 10:00 am mass throughout the program year.
