LENTEN STUDY ZOOM LINK (6:30pm, Parish Hall)
The Lenten program “Building a Holy Lent” is an opportunity to examine bona opera (translated as “good works” Rule of St. Benedict), the spiritual tools in St. Benedict’s Rule as they might be applied to our lives during Lent. There is an online as well as in-person option.
THE PENITENTIAL ORDER
Hear what our Lord Jesus Christ saith:
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 22:37-40
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us; but if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8, 9
Seeing that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14, 16

Luke 11:29-32
When the crowds were increasing, Jesus began to say, “This generation is an evil generation; it asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so the Son of Man will be to this generation. The queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon, and see, something greater than Solomon is here! The people of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the proclamation of Jonah, and see, something greater than Jonah is here!”

I ask your prayers for God’s people throughout the world; for Bartholomew of Constantinople, Francis of Rome, Stephen of York; Sean the Presiding Bishop, Susan of San Diego; and the clergy of St. Michael’s by-the-Sea. In the Anglican cycle of prayer, pray for The Church of the Province of Central Africa; in the Diocesan cycle of prayer, for the let us pray for Camp Stevens Sunday: God of the oak and the pine, of sunrise and sunset, and of healing and love, hear our prayers. Celebrate those who love Camp Stevens and those who are discovering camp today for the first time. Keep us mindful of the rights and needs of others through Camp Stevens’ mission work of transformation grounded in the values of openness, connection, gratitude, and wonder. Amen; and for all ministers and people.

We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen.
